The Australian Government has been preparing a letter of support for Corby if she decides to seek parole.
A Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokeswoman said last night it was awaiting official confirmation of Corby's sentence cut.
"The Government broadly supports Ms Corby's parole application," she said.
She said parole was a matter for Indonesian authorities and the exact timing was uncertain.
"The parole process is likely to be complex, involving consideration by a number of Indonesian government agencies," she said.
Parole is extremely rare for foreigners in Indonesia and prisoners have to demonstrate moral development and regret for their crime.
