MICKEY and Minnie put on a show for Kim Jong-un and his, er, "Excellent Horse-Like Lady"? We're confused too.

But State Department spokesman Patrick Ventrell said that since Washington does not have diplomatic relations with Pyongyang it could not raise the issue as it would in other countries.

He broadly urged North Korea to meet its international obligations.

North Korean state TV this week showed performers dressed as Minnie Mouse, Tigger and other characters dancing against a backdrop of footage from Disney movies, an unusual departure for the isolated nation.

New leader Kim Jong Un has sought to project an image of youth and modernity.

The Walt Disney Co. says it did not authorise the performance.

Meanwhile, the National Post reports the mysterious woman spotted next to Kim Jong-Un on July 6 is Hyon Song-wol, a recently married former pop star.

But that's not even the best part; Song-wol's former group the Bochonbo Electronic Music Band peaked in 2005 with the hit single Excellent Horse-Like Lady.
