ALICE Zaslavsky has no regrets about how she played her immunity pin, despite being eliminated from MasterChef.
Zaslavsky bravely avoided using her immunity pin a couple of times, before honouring a pact with Mindy Woods and Kylie Millar, who were also in possession of pins, to play them on Tuesday night.
In the end, it exposed her to elimination on the Ten Network show yesterday - and she lost.
"It was a decision we all made together (to all play our immunity pins on Tuesday night)," Zaslavsky said.
"It meant it levelled the playing field and by not playing it then, it would have been playing dirty.
"That was the right time to play it. If I had played it in this elimination I would have been putting three really good friends in a bad situation."
Zaslavsky was up against Woods, Julia Taylor and Andy Allen in a challenge that should have had all of them in their comfort zone - cooking their favourite dish for a loved one.
Woods cooked crispy-skin duck with red curry and lychee sauce with jasmine rice for her dad, while Allen created a lamb rack with mushroom mousse for his mum.
Taylor concocted a lemon syrup cake and ice cream for her husband and Zaslavsky carved up a spiced lamb roast for her boyfriend.
Zaslavsky said rather than being overjoyed with the challenge, the amateur chefs were instead overcome with emotion.
As there had not been any contact with close friends, partners or relatives for a week, Zaslavsky said the challenge was actually peppered with an emotional twist.
"When the judges announced it, they kind expected all of us to be relieved and excited, but we hadn't spoken to our families for a week and it had been a really tough week with eliminations.
