Dig fails to find MacKillop school

ARCHAEOLOGISTS and Flinders University students have failed to find the site of Mary MacKillop's first school in Penola.
Despite announcing last week it was highly likely they had found the site of the stable that St Mary of the Cross taught in, Associate Professor Heather Burke said further digging revealed it was not.
The property in which she started the school in 1866 is well known but the site of the stable is not.
