Pace duo sign with Scorchers

PACE duo Nathan Coulter-Nile and Ben Edmondson will be looking to replicate last season's Big Bash success after re-signing with the Perth Scorchers for the 2012-13 tournament.
The quicks, who took 10 and 14 wickets respectively in last summer’s T20 competition to lead Perth to the final, will team up with newly acquired fast bowler Pat Cummins and spin duo Michael Beer and Brad Hogg in a formidable attack.
But the Scorchers have lost the services of death bowler Nathan Rimmington, who signed a three-year deal with the Melbourne Renegades.
Perth expanded its squad to 15 with the announcement of former Sydney Thunder all-rounder Tim Armstrong, teenage spinner Ashton Agar and bowling pair Jason Behrendorff and Joe Mennie.
“There is always huge pressure on the bowlers in T20 but we think we have recruited out-and-out pace as well as spinners who bowl with discipline and guile,” Scorchers coach Lachlan Stevens said.
“(Coulter-Nile) is a man capable of bowling upwards of 140km/hr and is one of the best fielders in the world, so to have his all-round talents back on display for the Scorchers is very pleasing.
“Ben is the ultimate team bowler. Any time you want someone to stick to a plan, Edo is the first guy you would go to because he is selfless and always wants to do well for his team.
“Gaining his signature was a high priority for us.”
The Scorchers will finalise their squad this week, with three players still able to be added.
Scorchers Squad: Marcus North (Captain), Ashton Agar, Tim Armstrong, Michael Beer, Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Pat Cummins, Ben Edmondson, Herschelle Gibbs, Brad Hogg, Mike Hussey, Simon Katich, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Joe Mennie.
