A SEARCH has resumed for a missing NSW deer hunter last seen in the Victorian Alps.
Matthew Handcock, 34, failed to return to camp on Friday after a day of hunting in Shelley forest near Corryong in the state's far north east.
The bushman, from Jindera near the NSW-Victoria border, was last seen by a fellow hunter at 4pm (AEST) on Friday, but a police and SES search that evening failed to find him.
A search crew of police and SES volunteers began another search on Saturday morning.
Police have concerns for the hunter's welfare because he was only wearing light clothing and temperatures had plunged to near freezing overnight.
