HIS daily workouts have earned him a loyal following, but is Russell Crowe's fitness regime actually working?
Crowe, who won an Oscar for Best Actor in 2000 film Gladiator and is owner of South Sydney Rabbitohs NRL club, has been endeavouring to get in shape for almost a year and has kept fans up to date with his battle with the bulge by posting his daily regime on Twitter.

"Extremely short workout today, very sweaty though, push ups and prone holds, back, chest, shoulder routine out the door,'' he wrote on the site yesterday.
"Did this thing where you do 10 push ups, prone hold for 30secs, 9 push ups, prone hold 30secs etc, only takes 6 or 7 minutes but it got me.''
Working out has earned Crowe a dedicated following of fans keen to fight the flab, with dozens of re-tweets of each post and questions about exercise techniques.
While Crowe is still definitely much slimmer than this time last year, the 48-year-old was snapped looking quite well-rounded in Los Angeles last week.
Out shopping with wife Danielle Spencer, Crowe was looking like he had embraced his fuller figure once again.
Perhaps it was just the unflattering polo top but the father of two appears to have bulked up a little since he wowed the red carpet at the The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards in January.
