US grants Playboy Playmate 'genius' visa

THE Canadian former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner has been granted a work visa by the US Government reserved for "individuals with extraordinary ability".
Yes, we know what you're thinking but Shera Bechard's extraordinary ability has nothing to do with her Playmate stats.
Her lawyer, Chris Wright, managed to argue that Bechard should be granted migrant status because she is a genius.
"Genius visas", or to give them their proper name O-1s and EB-1s, are intended for those who have "risen to the very top of the field of endeavour" and have "sustained national or international acclaim".
Berhard was named Playboy's Miss November in 2010 and is believed to have started "Frisky Friday", the photo-sharing trend in which young women post raunchy pictures of themselves on Friday.
She also managed to keep a straight face while dating octagenarian multi-millionaire.
Mr Wright, who the go-to immigration lawyer for Hollywood celebs, convinced the Government that Bechard's accomplishments meant she was eligible.
He defended his clients, saying: "There's nothing in those regulations that requires you to be a genius. It's quite condescending to say, 'Oh, the idiot Playboy Playmates, they don't qualify'."
Bechard, who cited her role as a mute Russian in the cult film Sweet Karma in her application, said officials "want to give (a visa) to someone who shows business skills".
