LATE footy legend Ted Whitten, known for his catchphrase "stick it up 'em", has been crowned the AFL's top personality.
The judging panel - made up of former players Sam Kekovich, Kevin Bartlett, David Schwarz and Cam Mooney - named Kevin Sheedy and Ron Barassi runners-up at yesterday's annual Legends Luncheon at the MCG.
Kekovich said that back in his day clubs promoted personalities.
He said players were more subdued and introverted these days.
"When you talk about personalities, and people who can nail a crowd in a catatonic state, I'm not so sure there's that many of them around," Kekovich said.
The recently retired Mooney said there were still some great personalities inside the clubs, such as Geelong players James Kelly and Steve Johnson.
