THE Australian market looks set to open higher despite a lack of direction from Wall Street at the end of the week with little concrete news for investors to grab on to.
At 7.09am AEST today, the September share price index futures contract was up 13 points at 4410.
No major economic or equities news is expected today.
In Australia, the market on Friday closed firmer, with gains underpinned by strength in the financial sector.
The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index closed up 11.1 points, or 0.25 per cent, at 4408.3 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index had risen 11 points, or 0.25 per cent, to 4430.8 points.
