THE wounded mother of a six-year-old victim of last week's US cinema shooting suffered another loss as she miscarried her six-week-old pregnancy, according to media reports.
Ashley Moser, whose six-year-old Veronica Moser-Sullivan was one of 12 killed in the horrific attack in a Colorado movie theatre, was wounded in the neck and abdomen in the July 20 shooting.
On Saturday, her family confirmed in a statement that she had miscarried her six-week-old foetus, The Denver Post reported.
The miscarriage does not mean that the shooting suspect James Holmes will be charged with an added murder when he appears in court on Monday for his arraignment.
Colorado law does not allow a suspect to be charged in the death of a foetus, according to local broadcaster 9 News.
"Tragically, the extreme trauma (Ashley) sustained also caused a miscarriage," the family said in its statement.
The family said that Ashley Moser's "lifetime of care will be a long road".
