A MOTORIST crushed to death after a car and truck collided on the Bruce Highway has been identified as a central Queensland woman.
The car was wedged under the semi-trailer and the driver, a 59-year-old woman from Rockhampton, died at the scene.
She had no passengers.
The collision happened near Ambrose, north of Gladstone around noon (AEST) on Sunday, closing the Bruce Highway in both directions for several hours.
It took emergency crews hours to remove the car from under the semi-trailer.
The semi-trailer driver, a 21-year-old man, and a passenger, a 55-year-old man, were not injured.
